The Marin Sun Farms Meat CSA has been formed to allow MSF customers the opportunity to more directly support livestock production and processing efforts through 6 month and 1 year membership purchases and monthly pick ups. This effort represents a formal mechanism for more affordably supplying meats that are raised locally, ethically, sustainably, and humanely.

What's a CSA?: Members of a Community Supported Agriculture program support local farms by buying "shares" of future harvests in this case, meat animals. By paying for shares up front, CSA members guarantee farmers the capital they need to bring their animals from field to market. In return, members will receive monthly packages containing steaks, roasts, ground, and additional listings if desired, like: sausage, chicken, and discounted cuts of meat.

What does being a CSA member mean?:
1) You will be subscribed to our member email list.
2) You will be committed to a monthly package.
3) You will be able to order from our list of monthly additional offerings.

What's in a package?: Each package has an approximate amount, in lbs, of frozen cuts from our several species of livestock. Catagorized as Steaks, Roasts, and Ground. At our discretion, we will fill a package with frozen cuts of meat that fit each category. See the following link: CSA-CUTS. Should you prefer to not receive meat from a particular species, you will be able to exempt one species in the initial subscription form.

PRICING INFORMATION at Marin Sun Farms CSA: You can expect to save up to 20% by purchasing your meat through the CSA packages as compared to purchasing incrementally from our Butcher Shop or Farmers Markets and even more by ordering further discounted additional tems.

Members MUST pick up within the time frame detailed for SAN MATEO CSA [LAST TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH between 11am and 9pm] unless otherwise arranged with MSF or the site host, Denise Terry, prior to the scheduled pick up. Packages not picked up will be forfieted. A member may request to skip 1 months pick up per 6 month subscription by contacting tristen@marinsunfarms.com or calling (415) 663-8997 Ext. 203.

OTHER PICKUP LOCATIONS: When you join the Marin Sun Farms CSA, you join specify your monthly pickup location. There are several pickup locations throughout the Bay Area, so make sure you are choosing the one closest to your home. In addition to our San Mateo site, there are also Menlo Park, Palo Alto, and San Jose pickup locations.
